Originally founded to address the problems of juvenile delinquency and gang violence in Chinatown, Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) offers comprehensive youth development and support services to improve the lives of disadvantaged and underserved Asian youth.
The organization’s programs include educational enrichment, workforce development, behavioral health and leadership development delivered in a supportive, youth-centered environment. Young people are referred to CYC’s wraparound case management and programs by the police, juvenile probation and schools. Several programs target students who are new immigrants, close to dropping out, and in the criminal justice system, and many involve parents and families. A community outreach initiative aims to reduce community violence.
